water

It sparkles in the sun light, reflects the shimmering sun in the canopy of leaves at dusk.. magically holds up a boat or canoe providing so much fun.. washes gently on the shore over and over… provides a home to slimy fish and a soft landing spot for the gulls, geese and ducks.  Provides a place to land a plane, the pontoons making waves that begin out of nowhere… a place to swim, dive and splash your friends.

Watching a stone bounce, splash after splash, as it darts across the surface, bouncing again and again.. ripples spreading and interlocking as they glimmer and expand. The silence you hear as you watch the stars reflect at night, the moons twin mirrored so clearly on the glass like surface as it crawls across the evening sky.. watching it move and smiling so much, knowing your special one is watching it too, across the world so far away, but connected to you by the invisible tether called friendship and love…

*smiles so much* as I watch the temperatures climb.. the water now finally defrosted with the arrival of spring.. soon my visits to the lake can start again..  it is calling me, sparkles and glimmers, ripples and swirls  spreading so far.. then in the evening I can sit by a campfire grin and smile while, watching the constellations .. big and small dip in the sky for all to see, and know that I am connected by that sight each and every night.
