The Wonderment of Christmas

What is that special feeling….

The sort of happy glow…

The Christmas spirit many search for?

Is it the excitement of what you may receive….

or have you discovered that giving is truly where the excitement lies?

The wondrous look as you gaze at the lights..

decorations and think back… or ahead…….

Is that look only visible on a child’s face?

Or does one sneak out on yours as you gaze at a child

that is filled with Christmas Spirit?

That excitement is so powerful.

for one night a year

you can get a child filled with energy to behave….

lol.. well a tiny bit. I am told it didn’t work for me.

shhhhhh… it still doesn’t 🙂

But that look… it is so special

so wondrous

It is the heart of Christmas Spirit

is it amazement… awe?

Like those visits to Santa..

when you whispered in his ear

with hope he would remember

and liked your cookies from last year

seeing all the lights

blinking, twinkling and looking so magical.

awwww, the magic,

Christmas seems full of magic

You see it everywhere as the excitement builds

from a flickering flame

to an empty stocking

hung with such care

That excitement is everywhere…. building

It is so hard to contain

It is fighting to come out

but you have to behave..

he is watching….

he knows if you are good

Young Boy Holding Christmas Gift

awwww, but they are all good

so you have to try

to contain all the excitement…

and wait.. such a long wait

how to stay out of trouble

while that day gets closer

when everything is so sparkly

and tempting….

It is sooooo hard

everything needs to be touched

but you can’t reach everything

perhaps that is a good thing?

it is getting closer though….

Is the excitement building in you yet?
