Support

America’s got talent is interesting, not so much that there is talent there…. eeeps, well there are some very good acts. The judges have changed though, Yes the same ones as last year, but the annoying conflict that was occurring has gone that the previous judges had, that made the show so annoying to watch, I do miss Sharon though, for the most part the new judges get along very well. Most of the time, and always when it is important.

It was important on last nights show.

The new judges show compassion.

Last night, a girl was getting ready to preform. She was to sing. Not everyone is suited to stand before a large audience and sing, it is a daunting thing to face so many, with expectations. This does not even take into account all the back stage people, all the lights and the cameras.

When you suffer with anxiety, it is beyond understanding for most, at what you must overcome. It is mind numbing in fact.

This video clip is from last nights show.

 *********

If you are about to watch the video, OCD is an anxiety disorder. When the term it takes one to know one comes up, it is often true, but not in all cases, compassion and empathy fill many gaps.

Howie suffers with OCD, I have watched many video clips that he has done and he does not have a mild case of it, but does great at coping and overcoming. I am annoyed often when the judges tease him, he takes it so well, but for me, this is not something that you tease someone with. Yes it is easy, and yes he takes it well, yes you only tease people you love. But still.

What I am, in a round about way, trying to get across, is that compassion and understanding, lead to help and support. Howie shows this. He understands what she overcame. He lends support before and after, after was nice, before she collapsed. I am not ashamed to say I cried.

If she had just stood there and squeaked and sang a toneless song, I would stand and cheer, for she was there, standing before the world, opening herself. Overcoming a mountain.

BUT SHE ROCKED IT!

Anna Clendening, she has a youtube page of videos. Here

After listening to some of her songs, Anna may not win, as there are so many acts, she has a lot of competition, she has amazing talent though, I think she already won and she has my vote, I am super impressed. Listen to her cover song warrior.

I haven’t said this in a while, but RIDE THE WAVE, learn, understand, help, support, learn, learn more. When someone suffers with a mental disorder you will not understand what they go through on a day to day basis, what they cope with or suffer with. For if you don’t take the time to learn, many will suffer alone, and perhaps in your own life, in your own family. Remove the stigma!

If we don’t remove the stigma, mental health will continue to be a back burner concern, and so many that need help will not receive it. Don’t fear the word mental, just look at the word health.
