The countdown grows shorter

Our excitement is building as moving day gets closer. I have an app on my phone that is counting down by day. Each night at midnight it changes… and I am watching as it does so lol. Then the house fills with the number of days left shouted out by all. seems we all have apps on our phones counting down.

Aimee’s app is counting down by minutes, she is more precise. It looks like a much longer time though… I hope she finishes packing.

Oh packing is such fun. We were very careful at first to label the box as to which room it will go in…. and the contents. But then to make use of the boxes contents sort of spread out a bit, to get the best fit in the box. Labeling becomes less exact.

After a while it seems we just tape the box shut and hope for the best. When walking in a room, carrying “stuff” to pack in a box…. when the box suddenly pops open and Aimee jumps out… do you know what happens to the “stuff” you were carrying? sheish

To save some time we moved some of the boxes to the garage, so moving day will go faster.

I am very happy we arranged for a moving company to…. well move us. I hope they like boxes. They seemed very professional Megan said.

Did I mention we were excited?

We are mostly packed though, except for the things we need to use until we move. Though it is getting harder to find some things that we use… as they have been packed. eeeeeps

I am trying to sort the boxes out well. They become quite heavy when you pack text books in them. Though it is nice to have books on ereaders and computers, we still have a few actual text books, and they are quite thick, they really eat into box space.

I hope he has a basket for his bike…..

After we move, we will have to find things to do with all the boxes…

perhaps some art for a wall

or a handy room divider?

I wonder how long it takes to unpack…

  1. You will need lots of cats to sit in the empty boxes. 🙂

Just a week now. How r u packing ur plane??? The movers will put a scratch on the wing 🙂

  3. Wow! In a week. Hmmmm, I don’t know what’s worse… Packing or unpacking. Either way, it takes a while, then I want to get it all done, everything labeled and/ or put away. Sigh. Ooooh a box art wall might be nice.

  4. That is great! But yikes! Packing, especially books, it does lend to want to use e-readers more but they just aren’t the same. For some reason my feed is being wonky, so sorry for the tardiness.

I love that you have plans for the leftover boxes. If you did have cats, you could make a cat palace out of them…there is a youtube video about a guy who made a whole castle out of boxes…I like the box art idea.

Excited for you all! Huzzah for a new home 🙂

    • Did you get your AC fixed? We had ours changed two days after we moved. The new one is soooo quiet.

      • Yeah, I ended up replacing it. The new one works, and it is more energy-efficient.
I think the tech just advanced so much it is better off to do that. Glad you have a quiet and newer AC too:) it is nice. 🙂

      • Are you all more settled in then?

      • The new one is going to use a lot less power, he explained how, one reason is the oil in the motors is thinner so they don’t require as much effort to move, seems a simple thing, why did they use thick oil before? It doesn’t run long though and the house is cool, so it must work much better. Now of course, it will cool down and we may not need it, lol.

Settled in, hmmm, more settled in, it feels like home but not really yet. We do love it though.

Oh don't be shy, speak your mind.. leave a comment. :-)
